Another International football tournament is here and the fans are really excited. The Euro Cup 2021 starts on June 11, 2021 and ends on July 11, 2021. The tournament will be held in 11 different European countries. This decision was made to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the European Championship.

The Euro Cup was actually planned to take place in the year 2020, but because of the Covid pandemic that troubled the whole World, the tournament was postponed to 1 year. The name Euro 2020 was still retained. As planned before, Rome hosts the opening match and England’s Wembley Stadium will host the semi-finals and final.

The tournament is played between 24 teams that qualified by playing the qualifiers. The teams are split into 6 groups containing 4 teams each. The top 2 teams of each group qualify to the knockout stage along with 4 best third-placed teams.

Whenever a tournament is close, the most discussed topic will be about which team is going to win the tournament. Especially since football is one of the most followed sports and its large participation makes this a very hot discussion topic. One of the biggest football powerhouses in the world, Germany will be aiming to cover some of the lost ground in the last few years. Germany have won 3 titles, the most in the tournament, and won it last in 1996. The German team won the 2014 World Cup and it hasn’t been since then, able to rise to similar levels. Germany went out in the group stage in 2018 World Cup for the first time in its football history. Coach Joachim Low has announced that he will retire after the Euro Cup. He will be hoping to retire on a high ending his coaching time with the team after 16 years.

But this is football and all these years we have seen some dark horses running and sometimes the miracle too happened. Also, these are not the only teams having chances to win the tournament.

There are some big names missing. Majorly because of some flaws noticed at the last moments. These teams are now having the highest possibility to win. Spain is having some Covid concerns at their camp at the last moment. Portugal the current Euro cup holders expecting Cristiano Ronaldo to have the strength to take them forward. Croatia the runner-ups of the last World Cup have to perform like the same to show and state they are the new powerhouse of Europe.
